People are sometimes surprised to hear Cabo San Lucas recommended as a family destination — it has a reputation as a spring-break and nightlife town. But we didn’t build Endless Summer as a couples’ getaway. We built it as a place our own kids could run around in, and we’ve hosted plenty of families since who’ve felt the same way.

Why we think Cabo works for kids

Endless Summer started during the pandemic as a project for our own family — we’re two healthcare workers with three kids, and we wanted a place that let us slow down and actually spend time together. That’s still what shapes how we think about the condo and the neighborhood around it.

Medano Beach is the biggest reason Cabo works well with children: it’s the one beach in town where the water is genuinely calm enough for swimming, not just wading. That’s not true everywhere in Los Cabos — several beaches along the coast have strong currents and riptides that make them unsuitable even for confident adult swimmers, so it’s worth sticking to Medano and the other Blue Flag–certified beaches (Chileno, Santa Maria, Palmilla) for anything beyond a photo stop.

Easy days with kids in tow

A few of our own family’s go-to activities:

  • Medano Beach — calm water, beach clubs with food close by, and a five-minute walk from the condo
  • The Glass Factory — a genuinely interesting stop where recycled glass is hand-blown into vases and décor; kids tend to find the process itself fascinating
  • A round of golf or a walk through the marina — plenty of space to wander, watch boats, and grab ice cream without a strict itinerary

Space to actually spread out

Endless Summer sleeps 6 comfortably across two queen bedrooms and a portable queen mattress, so most families fit without anyone camped out on cushions. The kitchen is fully equipped if you’d rather cook than eat out every meal with kids in tow, and the rooftop’s heated pool is an easy way to burn off afternoon energy without leaving the building.

Our best safety note is the same one we give every family in person: enjoy Medano’s calm water freely, but treat the open coastline with real respect — the currents outside the protected bay are strong, even for good swimmers.
